Anthropometries is based on a performative process in which Sara Coleman interacts with the felt material directly with her body,
in such a way that the final sculpture is understood as the result -always open and not definitive- of this process.
Therefore the artwork questions the standardisation of bodies, regulated by cultural, social and political convictions...
Solid bodies that respond to "an anthropometric standardisation that has been determining the whole iconography of the power of
the male body over space" [Sabrina Gaudino] and that the artist disarticulates through infinite flexions and modulations.
In this way, the body that Sara Coleman offers us is a particular and subjective body, a space open to experience which metamorphoses
in a continuous and diverse way through the felt interface; where the body, in relation to space, is understood as a mode
of extension existing in act, always in process.
